The stylish ZZ30 series Toyota Soarer first appeared in 1991 and didn't change much up until 2001. Rebadged, (and toned down) the Soarer was relabeled as the Lexus SC300 / SC400 in North America. Both the Soarer and the Lexus SC came with the luxury looks both inside and out as well as capable RWD drivetrains.

Only the JDM Soarer was available with the 275hp, Twin Turbo 2.5L powerplant (1JZ-GTE) as a factory option.

The 1JZ-GTE engine was lifted from MKIII Toyota Supra and provides effortless acceleration and unlimited tuning capabilities. This engine can also be found in other popular JDM Toyota's like the Toyota Chaser, Mark II, and Crown. Because of the 1JZ's widespread popularity, aftermarket performance parts are plentiful making the 2.5GT Soarer easy to customize and maintain.

You may find a few 5-Speed manual Soarer's around Japan. Although it was a factory option, they are far and few between and carry a hefty price tag. Many Soarer owners opt to use a transmission from the JDM MK3 Supra to turn their automatics into manuals.

For a more refined ride, the Toyota Soarer is also available with the popular 4.0L NA V8 (1UZ-FE) engine. The Toyota 1UZ-FE engine produces 256hp / 260 ft-lb of torque and can be found in the USDM and JDM versions of the Toyota Celsior / Lexus LS400, Toyota Crown, Lexus SC400 and the Toyota Aristo/ Lexus GS400. Just as the 1JZ, parts are easy to come by and affordable.

The Soarer combines high performance and over the top luxury to give you the best of both worlds in a surprisingly affordable package. We highly recommend the Soarer as a daily driver or a weekend drift car.

Toyota Soarer Compliance

Compliance has recently become an issue with all imported vehicles in BC.

Typical Compliance parts required for the Toyota Soarer:

DOT/SAE Compliant Headlights
Daytime Running Light Module (In stock)

Because the Toyota Soarer was sold in North America as the Lexus SC300 the headlights and taillights from a USDM SC300 should be easy to find and install. These parts are required to meet the regulations set forth by the CVSE (Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement). Photographic proof of compliance is required prior to registration in BC.
