1960 Henney Kilowatt
History
The Henney Kilowatt was manufactured from a Renault Dauphine. One hundred Dauphines were purchased to convert into electric powered vehicles, but only 47 ever were sold.
Local Minnesota History
This Kilowatt was purchased by NSP (Northern States Power) a local utility. The Kilowatt was then donated to the University of Minnesota.
About this Henney Kilowat
The car is operational, and has had restoration work. Repainted body and rechromed bumpers. The front seats have been recovered, not in original material. The car has the better 72-volt system, with the 12-volt accessories battery. Another feature of the car is the gas heater for the passenger compartment.
The car travels at speeds up to 60 mph, and has a range of 40-60 miles on a charge.
Tires and batteries are all in good condition. The charger is included.. Mileage on the odometer reads 6731.
